Chess players want to read about chess and correspondence players want to read about correspondence play. The literature focused on CC is relatively limited, however, and not always as easily accessible as other works.
With this in mind, we have created a new page on this website referencing works in our area: CC Literature .
We would be happy to add further items if as we discover them.
The BCCA offers everyone a Daily Chess Puzzle – actually, three puzzles – courtesy of Chess Shredder. There are available through the following page under “BCCA Members) and are updated each day:
The ECF has added its weight to the statement from Fide referred to in our last post.
The following statement was issued by Mike Truran (ECF Chief Executive) and Malcolm Pein (FIDE Delegate and International Director) supporting FIDE’s decision that the 44th Chess Olympiad and the FIDE Congress will not take place in Russia.
The ECF has gone further, adding that:
In its view, FIDE should hold no further events in Russia until Russia has fully withdrawn from Ukrainian sovereign territory.
It will not send teams, players or officials to any chess events held in Russia until Russia has fully withdrawn from Ukrainian sovereign territory and ends hostilities against the Ukrainian people.
In its view, FIDE should terminate all agreements with Russian sponsors with immediate effect.
In addition to the statement of the ICCF, FIDE issued its own statement last week in relation the impact of the war in Ukraine. Further details can be read here: FIDE Ukraine Statement.
It is important that we recognise success. With that in mind, we are publishing all winners of the William Mason Championship since 2010/11 see: William Mason Roll of Honour .
Following on from our previous update on the Medal tournaments see: The Medals , we thought that players and other members would find it helpful to have a list of all participants. This is set out in the list below.
