Today is Day 1 of the annual ICCF Congress which is taking place this year in Bremen, Germany. Three of our members have been awarded Titles: Russell Sherood, Helen Sherwood & Tony Balshaw – see photo of their Certificates below:-
In addition, BCCA member Andrew Dearnley has been awarded a Bertl von Massow Silver Medal for 10 years continuous service to ICCF. A photo can be seen of the EFCC website here: http://www.iccfengland.org/
Ian Mason & Dawn Williamson have both been awarded the BCCA Candidate Master (CM) Title having achieved the necessary 20 CM points. It has been a good week for both players- Ian has won the Silver Medal tournament as well, and Dawn has also been awarded the ICCF LIM (Ladies International Master) Title. Congratulations to both players!
The only remaining Medal tournament from 2015 (Silver Medal No.2) has been won by Ian Mason – congratulations to Ian! It was a very close at the end with Ian narrowly pushing Dawn Williamson to 2nd place on S-B tie-break. In 3rd place was Alex Relyea.
Gary Maguire is BCCA’s latest Candidate Master. His superb victory in the 2015/6 British Championship Candidates tournament took him over the required 20 point mark. His other points came from a combination of Class 2 & Class 1 Trio’s. Well played Gary!

Congratulations to Edmund Foulds on winning Class 3 Trio No. 31 with an impressive score of 3/4. Edmund will receive 3 BCCA Master points taking his total to 6 (20 needed to gain the title.)
Very well played to Richard Tillett on winning the above Class 3 Trio No.34 with a perfect score of 4/4. Richard will receive his first 3 BCCA Master points (20 needed to gain the title.)
Congratulations to Alex Sherwood winning both Class 1 Trio No.126 with a clean sweep of 4/4 and Class 2 Trio No. 59 with a score of 3.5/4, Alex has been promoted to Class 3 and has been awarded 6 BCCA Candidate Master Points in total.
Congratulations to Keith Dudeney on winning Class 1 Trio No.130 with a perfect score of 4/4. Keith is awarded 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points taking his total to 13 (20 needed to gain the title) Unfortunately there will be no promotion awarded from this trio due to the silent withdrawal of one of the players
Congratulations to Yosua Sitorus on winning Class 2 Trio No.62 with an impressive score of 3.5/4. Yosua is now promoted to Class 3 and receives 4 BCCA Candidate Master Points, taking his total to 10 (10 more needed to gain the title.) Class 3 Players can also enter Class Two Trios if they wish to continue earning BCM Points
Current BCCA President Stan Grayland has been awarded the BCCA Master (BM) Title having accumulated 20 BM points: well played Stan! The points were awarded from winning the BCCA Championship in 2014/5; coming joint 2nd in the 2015/6 Championship, and winning the 2012 Postal Gold tournament.
The latest BCCA magazine (CC196) is currently being posted to members. The all-important Membership Renewal form is enclosed so that you can choose your tournaments for next season. There are other articles by EP Nettles, M Donnelly, J Corfield, M Read, R Burridge as well as the usual columns by Ian Watson & Hamilton McMillan. Extra copies are available at a cost of £3.00 each.
Editor Neil Limbert & Production Assistant Graham Pattrick are now retiring from their magazine roles after over a decade of involvement. The new magazine Editor will be Russell Sherwood whose first Issue will be in September. We wish Russell well in his new role!
