The BCCA entered 6 teams in the 2014/15 BCCL (British Correspondence Chess League). 5 teams are in the Webserver League & one team is in the Postal league. Play started in December 2014 & ends September 2015.
Webserver BCCL
Championship: BCCA Giants currently in 3rd place (out of 9 teams) on 8.5/14 with two games left. Likely to just miss out on the Title but a very well played season. The tournament crosstable & all the games can be seen here: https://www.iccf.com/event?id=49415
Division One: Our three teams in this division currently occupy 1st, 2nd & 3rd places! Out of 9 teams in the division so excellent play from our players. BCCA Lions are on 10/13 (3 games left); BCCA Dragons are on 8/10 (6 games left); BCCA Centaurs are on 7.5/13 (3 games left). I am hopeful that two of those teams will finish 1st & 2nd & therefore obtain promotion to the Championship. The tournament crosstable & all the games can be seen here: https://www.iccf.com/event?id=49483
Division Two: BCCA Eagles are in 5th place on 7.5/13 (1 game left) so mid-table security ensured. The tournament crosstable & all the games can be seen here: https://www.iccf.com/event?id=49598
Postal BCCL
Our one Postal team – BCCA Postalites – currently stand on 6.5/9 with 3 games remaining. Already a good score so the team have done well. The tournament crosstable is not yet available as many teams don’t send in their results until the end of the season.
NEXT SEASON
I hope that all the players involved in all the teams will play again next season, but there are always a few who cannot. If you are renewing your BCCA membership & don’t mind an extra two games, please remember to tick the BCCL option. It’s free!
