BCCA/C3/TR2 – Trio Result
In what is a first for the Trio’s Tournament this event has ended in a three way tie with equal SB scores! David Coyne, Leslie Eastoe and Les Ellis will each receive one BCCA Master Point and all three will remain in Class 3 awaiting new opponents. Well played to one and all.
BCCA/C2/TR5 – Trio Result
Congratulations to Les Ellis on winning this Class 2 Trio with a perfect score of 4/4. Les is now playing David Coyne and Leslie Eastoe in Class 3 which promises to be a very close fought contest between some of the Clubs strongest players. Click this link for the latest score.
The 2012 Webserver Gold Medal Tournament
The 2012 Webserver Gold Medal Tournament has now finished after some seven months of play. The finished crosstable and tournament download in pgn format is available via this link
This was one of the most closely fought tournaments I have ever seen! Only 2.5 points separated the whole field and there was a 4-way tie on 5 points at the top. Congratulations to David Coyne who is the winner on S-B Tie-break. David will received an engraved Gold Medal in due course & also collects 10 points towards the BCCA Master Title. Equal 2nd were Ian Mason & Mark Eldridge who therefore collect 2 points each. Honourable mention must be made of Toni Halliwell who, despite finishing on the same points as the winner, finished 4th on tie-break & has no prize! Sorry Toni.
I hope you all enjoyed the tournament & will consider playing again next season. A big thank you to Peter Hulse for acting as Tournament Director.

David Coyne wins 1st Class 3 Trio
Hearty congratulations to David Coyne on winning the 1st BCCA Class 3 Trio with a score of 3/4 – David wins 3 BCCA Master Points and now awaits new challengers. Ron Cooper & Neil Jefferson drew with 1.5 points and equal SB scores, as a result they will both stay in Class 3 and there will be no relegation. Crosstable
Selected Openings 2011/12 – Final Results
Here are the final results for the 2011/12 Season.
The Portsmouth Gambit B30 2011, Selected Openings Tournament played on the ICCF webserver was won by Andreas Kondziela with a near perfect score of 11/12, exceptional play. Fred Clough, who revived this opening, came second with 9.5/11. The full crosstable is available here

Anthony Balshaw clinches Webserver Tournament Hat Trick!
Anthony has achieved his goal of winning the 6th and last Webserver Tournament to complete his hat trick of consecutive wins. I am sure you will all join with us in congratulating him on this achievement. It was a tough competition and it went down to the wire with three players in contention. In the end Anthony held on to win from Terry Taylor on SB count back! It cannot get any closer. For more details please see the tournament table.
As the reigning BCCA Champion Anthony is having a tremendous year and must now have his sights set on the British Championship this year based on his current form.
