The 2018 webserver Silver Medal tournament No.1 has now finished and the final crosstable (with all the games) can be seen on the server here. Congratulations to Anthony Roberts for winning the tournament – well played! Anthony will receive a BCCA Silver Medal & is also awarded 10 Candidate Master points taking his total to 18 (20 points needed for the BCCA Candidate Master Title).
2nd place goes to Andrew Smith who is awarded 6 Candidate Master points (taking his total to 8).
In 3rd place was Antony Copsey who is already a BCCA Candidate Master.
David Cook wins Postal Bronze Tournament
The 2018 Postal Bronze tournament has finished resulting in victory for David Cook – well played David! The final crosstable & games can be viewed here .ย
David is also awarded 3 BCCA Candidate Master points.
2018-19 Endgame Tournament Finished
Only 3 players entered the 2018-19 Endgame tournament which resulted in a comprehensive win for Frank McMahon. The final scores were: F McMahon 7ยฝ, D Richardson 3, M Thistlewood 1ยฝ.
The Endgame tournament provides valuable endgame practice without affecting your rating (these tournaments are unrated). For next season, these tournaments will be free to enter!
Dave Grobler wins Silver Medal Tournament
Dave Grobler has won the 2018 Webserver Silver Medal tournament No.2 with an excellent score of 8/10 – well played Dave! Arthur Reed can count himself unlucky in 2nd place achieving the same score as Dave but losing out on the top spot on tie-break. The full crosstable can be seen here.
In 3rd place was Alan Sutton earning 3 Candidate Master points. These CCM points were enough to take Alan over the 20 point barrier & earn him the BCCA Candidate Master Title – congratulations to Alan!
Webserver Trios – Latest Results
Class 1 Trio No.185 has been won by Pablo Moujan with an excellent score of 3.5/4. Pablo has been promoted to Class 2 and awarded 2 BCM points
Class 2 Trio No. 96 has been won by BCM Robert Bruce with a perfect score of 4/4. Robert returns to Class 3 and possible qualification for the Trios Championship
Class 3 Trio No.74 resulted in a three way tie with all three players receiving 1 BM point each
Trio Championship Semi-Final No. 2 has been won by BCM Russell Sherwood with a score of 2.5/4 in a close fought match with BM Keith Kitson and BCM Yosua Sitorus. Russell will now play in the first Trios Championship Final with a guaranteed cash prize.
Class 2 Trio No.102 has been won by Ian Mcleary with an impressive score of 3/4. Inam is promoted to Class 3 and awarded 4 BCM points. He is also eligible to enter the Trios Championship.
Class 1 Trio No.184 has been won by John Jeff with a perfect score of 4/4. John is promoted to Class 2 and awarded 2 BCM Points.
New BCCA Candidate Master – James Wilkinson
BCCA member James Wilkinson has become the latest recipient of a BCCA Candidate Master Title after reaching the necessary 20 BCM points. Congratulation to James!

Class 3 Trio No.57 – Result
Congratulations goes to Gary Maguire on winning the trio with a fine score of 3/4.
Gary is awarded 3 BCCA Master Points taking his total to 9 (20 needed to gain the title).
Gary also wins a place in the next BCCA Trio semi Final where he will play against other class 3 winners for the prestigious title of BCCA Trio champion and a chance to win cash prizes.
