Webserver Trio’s Update – April 14

It is a been a busy month with 7 Trios being decided:-

Stephen Woodhouse has won his second Class 1 Trio with a score of 3/4 – well-played, Steven is already playing in Class 2 as a result of winning Class 1 Trio No.73, he is however awarded a further 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points.

Raymond Burridge is the winner of Class 1 Trio No.63 and is awarded another 2 BCM points – The title must be getting close now!

Phil Beckett and Ron Cooper share the honours and the BCM Points in Class 2 Trio No.26 – well-played gentlemen.

New member Richard Harris has won his first Class 1 Trio No.80 with a perfect score of 4/4 and has promoted to Class 2 and awarded 2 BCM Points.

Julian May and Raymond Burridge are joint winners of Class 2 Trio No.29 with scores of 3/4 and 2 wins apiece. They have been awarded 2 BCM Points each and will now play in Class 3 .

Congratulations to Dawn Williamson who has won Class 2 Trio No.23 with a perfect score of 4/4 – very well-played. Dawn is now eligible  to play in Class 3 and is awarded 4 BCM points.

New member Andreas Katris and Raymond Burridge are joint winners of Class 1 Trio No.81 with 3 points and 2 wins apiece sharing the 2 BCM Points – well-played.  Andreas is now eligible for a Class 2 Trio. Raymond has recently won a Class 2 and been promoted to Class 3.

D Coyne – new Postal Champion & BCCA Master!

David Coyne has won the 2013/4 BCCA Postal Championship with an excellent score of 8.5/10 – well played David! The crosstable can be seen here: http://www.iccf.com/event?id=39737

David wins £40 prize money & an engraved Shield courtesy of sponsorship from Raymond Burridge.

As an added bonus, the 6 BCCA Master points earned by this victory take David past the 20-point barrier. So he is also now awarded the BCCA Master Title – double congratulations!

Gambit & Counter-Gambit Tournaments Update

Tournament Controller Fred Clough has provided the following update for the 2013/14 Gambit & Counter-Gambit tournaments:-

Webserver Trios Update – March 2014

4 Trio’s have been decided this month

Class 1 Trio No.54 has been won by James Gaughan with a score of 3/4, James is now playing in Class 2 and has been awarded 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points.

New Member Julian May has won his first Class 1 Trio No.69 with a perfect score of 4/4, Julian has been promoted to Class 2 and awarded 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points.

Class 2 Trio No.16 has been won by Dr Mark Wilson with a score of 3/4 after a close fought battle with Neil Jefferson. Mark has been promoted to Class 3 and awarded 4 BCCA Candidate Master Points.

Congratulations to John Brasier on winning Class 3 Trio No.5 by ½ a point from Leslie Eastoe. Class 3 Trio’s are always close fought but in this one all three players were separated by just ½ point. Commiseration’s to Colin Glanville who returns to Class 2. There is no promotion from Class 3 but John is awarded 3, hard to come by, BCCA Master Points.

Webserver Trio’s Update – February 14

Three Trios have been decided this month:-

Class 1 Trio No.61 has been won by Michael Kruger with a perfect score of 4/4, Michael has been promoted to Class 2 and awarded 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points.

Leslie Eastoe is the winner of Class 3 Trio No.8 with a score of 3/4 against Bill Clews and Phillip Tolhurst. Leslie has been awarded 3 BCCA Master Points.

Ben Wood has won Class 2 Trio No.20 with a score of 3.5/4 and is now playing in Class 3, Ben has also been awarded 4 BCCA Candidate Master Points

Andrew Dearnley – ICCF International Master!

BCCA member Andrew Dearnley has achieved his 2nd IM Norm in the BFCC Golden Jubilee B http://www.iccf.com/event?id=32136 , to add to his first IM Norm achieved in 2008 in the 35 years Cuban anniversary event http://www.iccf.com/event?id=11889 and has now qualified for the ICCF IM (International Master) Title.

Congratulations to Andrew! All players will know how hard it is to achieve such a Title even without the added burden of all the volunteer work Andrew does on behalf of the CC community. (England International Secretary / ICCF Marketing Director / BCCA Executive Committee member) Well played!
