Andy Lindop has started 2014 in style. He has registered his 8th win in the 2013 postal Silver Medal tournament taking his total to 9/10. Even with 2 games remaining, he has sealed victory. We have three promotions to Class 2, Neil Limbert who won BCCA/C1/Tr60 with a perfect score of 4/4, Kuhan Chellappah and David Cook who were joint winners of BCCA/C1/Tr49 with 3 points, 3 wins and equal SB Scores – well played gentlemen.
We have had a flurry of results in the Webserver Trios, starting with J Etherington’s win in Class 2 Trio No.15 gaining promotion to Class 3 and 4 BCM Points. Frank McMahon has won Class 1 Trio No.59 and promotion to Class 2 plus 2 BCM Points. Finally, Mark Smith is the winner in Class 1 Trio No.50, Mark has also gained promotion to Class 2 and 2 BCM Points. Well played to all.
Following his win in Webserver Trio No.60 BCCA’s General Secretary, Neil Limbert,
has now achieved the BCCA Candidate Master Title.
Neil has amassed a total of 21 points, he came 2nd in the 2011/12 BCCC Candidates Tournament, won the 2011/12 BCCA Candidates B Tournament and the 2011 BCCA Counter Gambit Tournament. Well played Neil.
Congratulations to Gordon Dennison, John Crump and Sandy Smyth on winning their respective Trio’s. Gordon & John are joint winners of Class 1 Trio No.Tr36 and have been awarded 1 BCM point each and promoted to Class 2, Sandy has been awarded 4 BCM points and promoted to Class 3 – well played all.

The Trios Tournament is a very good way to earn BCCA Master Points and BCCA Candidate Master Points so if you are not already played why not give it a try.
Congratulations to Geoffrey Herbert on winning the Class 1 Trio No.55 with a score of 3.5/4. Geoffrey has been promoted to Class 2 and awarded another 2 BCM points. It will not be long before he claims the title at this rate. Well played. The other players were: Sverre Olsen and David Gosling.
After a tense battle with 4 players in contention right up to the very end, Geoffrey Herbert has emerged victorious and wins the ‘Bronze Medal’ with an excellent score of 9/10 and 8 wins. Geoffrey is also awarded 5 BCM points and will play in the Silver Medal Tournament if he enters again next year.
David Elwood came second with a score of 8/10 and 6 wins, David receives 3 BCM points and Rod Nixon just pipped Robert Bruce in to third place with a score of 7.5/10 and 7 wins. Robert had 7.5/10 and 6 wins.
