Edmund Foulds wins Class 2 Trio Tr12 with a score of 3.5/4, Edmond is now promoted to Class 3 and has been awarded 4 BCM points. The other players were Walter Rattay and Robert Bruce.
New member Dawn Williamson wins her debut Class 1 Trio Tr58 with a score of 3.5/4 – very well played. Dawn has been promoted to Class 2 and wins 2 BCM Points. The other players were Peter O’Brien and John Mair.
Congratulations to John Williams on winning the Trio with a perfect score of 4/4, well-played. John is now promoted to Class 3 and has been awarded 4 BCM Points. Bill Clews came second and Antony Copsey was third.
David Cook has won this year’s Silver Medal Tournament with an excellent score of 9.5/12 and 7 wins. The competition went right down the wire with both John Brasier (9/12 and 6 wins) and Kevin Eansworth (8.5 and 7 wins) in contention right to to the end. Very well played gentlemen. An ‘Engraved Silver Medal’ will be presented to David in due course and BCM Points awarded accordingly.
There has been a furry of results this week. New member, Mike Richardt has won his Class 1 Trio No. 48 with a perfect score of 4/4, the other players were Keith Dudeney and Martin Gawne. Mike is promoted to Class 2 and receives 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points.
Colin Beveridge is the winner of Class 1 Trio 53 and has been awarded 2 BCCA Candidate Master Points, Colin is already playing in Class 2, Robert Rough and James Gaughan were the other players.
John Fenby and Jim Fox are joint winners of Class 1 Trio No. 56 and receive 1 BCCA Candidate Master Point each. Martin Hardwick was the 3rd player. Jim goes through to Class 2 by agreement with John.
Very sadly, BCCA has been informed of the death of one of our members – Robert Rough of Inverness, aged 63. Robert was a member, on & off, for many years & was also an enthusiastic member of the Inverness Chess club. There is a service on 21st September at Kilvean Crematorium, Inverness at 10.30am.
