EFCC Rated Group Tournament Rules

1. The EFCC Executive Committee shall appoint a tournament organiser to organise and run the tournament, and a Championship Committee comprising the tournament organiser (who shall be the Chairman) and two nominees.

2. The tournament organiser will act as or appoint a tournament director for each tournament. The tournament organiser is authorised by the EFCC Executive Committee to take whatever decisions are required in relation to the running of the EFCC Rated Group tournaments.

3. Entry is open to all English flagged players and players who are able (in the case of new players) to be registered to play under the England flag in the ICCF. The EFCC reserves the right to decline an entry or entries without stating a reason or entering into any further correspondence.

4. The entry fee is £4 per group entered. Players may enter as many tournaments within the rating band of their published rating as they wish at any time. Each group consists of five players who shall play all other players on a double round basis on the ICCF server. Play will start as soon as a group is filled. The rated groups are divided as follows:

1800 and lower
1801 to 2000
2001 to 2200
2201 to 2350
2351 and over

5. If a player enters a group and a change of rating as published in the current ICCF rating list occurs before the tournament that was entered starts, that player will be transferred by the tournament organiser to the appropriate new banded group without any further charge of entry fee.

6. All games will be played under Triple Block rules for a tournament of 350 days. There shall be 50 days for the initial clock, 75 days for the initial bank, and an increment of 1 day for the first 50 moves only.

There shall be no guaranteed time after move 50.

7. All ICCF rules will apply to all EFCC Rated Group Tournaments.

8. The prize fund, subject to a player obtaining a positive score in accordance with ICCF rules, will be as follows:

9. For each tournament the following EFCC Master points and EFCC Candidate Master points will be allocated at the end of the tournament:

2001 to 2200   1st 8 points; 2nd 4 points
2201 to 2350 1st 6 points; 2nd 2 points

EFCC Master Points and EFCC Candidate Master Points will be allocated irrespective of whether or not a player has obtained a positive score.

10. Any matters concerning the organisation and running of the tournament not covered in these rules and any appeals against the decisions of the tournament organiser will be determined by the EFCC Rules Sub-Committee whose decision shall be final.

11. Any matters concerning the ICCF rules will be decided by the ICCF whose decision shall be final.
